Dec. 1: Fr. Joel retires—welcome Fr. Bruce Siket

Fr. Joel Cyr holding the monstrance and wavingAfter over 40 years as a priest, Fr. Joel Cyr will retire this year. The parishioners of Christ the Divine Mercy and St. Benedict Parishes wish him a truly grace-filled retirement, with every heavenly blessing and joy, and thank him for the work he did while with us.

Father has chosen to have a small farewell get-together with the cluster council and parish staff. Parishioners are certainly welcome to give Father personal gifts, cards, and Spiritual Bouquets—prayer for each other is an eternal gift.

Bishop Deeley anounces new priest assignments.

Fr. Bruce M. Siket, our new pastor, is a Madison native who graduated from the University of Maine at Fr. Bruce SiketOrono in 1976. He was ordained to the priesthood seven years ago on May 20, 2007.

Since his ordination, Father has served as a parochial vicar at Corpus Christi Parish in Waterville, Fairfield, Winslow, Vassalboro, Oakland, Belgrade Lakes, and most recently, in Stella Maris Parish and St. Joseph Parish.

Father, we warmly welcome you, and pray that our beloved Lord will give you great graces as you enter your new ministry with us.
