St. Martin’s Children’s Choir CD: We Will Rise

Beautiful liturgical music inspires us, creates a peaceful atmosphere, and draws us into the celebration of Mass and closer to God. The music ministry of the youth choir at St. Martin’s brings those benefits to Christ the Divine Mercy parishioners during selected Masses, and to others in the community through their CD, We Will Rise.

Lasting 30-minutes, the CD presents 14 meditative songs, 10 of which were written by St. Martin’s music director, Jude Ippoliti. The titles are:

Holy God We Praise Thy Name O Lord I Am Not Worthy Beautiful Morning Journey's End Table of Life As A Mother Holds a Child How Can I Keep From Singing Gospel Meditation God Is The Father Amazing Grace O Saving Graces I Am Your Answer Days In The Kingdom We Will Rise

The youthful recording artists include Regan, Cassidy, Christopher, Gabrielle, Josalyn, Kiara, Leah, Liza, Madeline, Marissa, Matthew, Nicole, Noah, Peighton, Rabecka, Rene. *

The CD is $15 and is available at St. Martin's Gift Shop, the Pangburn Family IGA, Levasseur's Hardware Store, St. Martin's Thrift Store and outlets in East Millinocket and Benedicta.

"This group of kids is so talented," declares Ippoliti. “The kids enjoyed recording the songs and hearing themselves on the CD,” Ippoliti notes. “They are easy to work with, and their parents were proud of the project." And the reaction of those parishioners who recently purchased the CD? "They like it, say they play it a lot, and tell me they send copies to their relatives," Ippoliti said.

Recording was done in small groups at Ippolito’s recording studio, with choir director Donna Picard often present. Thirty generous sponsors contributed $1,200 to cover the costs of production and duplication by a Vassalboro firm.

Rev. Joel Cyr, pastor of Christ the Divine Mercy Parish (St. Martin of Tours and St. Peter's Eucharistic sites) was among the sponsors who made the CD possible. According to Ippoliti, “Father was open to the idea of the CD and views the end result of the project as community outreach.”
